35-year-old MC Mary Kom has become the first Indian woman to win a boxing gold at the Commonwealth Games. Making a comeback to boxing after a two year sabbatical, Mary beat Northern Ireland’s Kristina O’Hara convincingly in the 48kg final. The 35-year-old five-time world champion and Olympic bronze-medallist was competing in her debut Commonwealth Games, also perhaps her last, and made it a memorable one with yet another dominating performance to claim an unanimous verdict of 5-0.
